Sheryl Oring is a pretty remarkable person and artist. I like er creative use of a technology that has been long since abandoned, the typewriter. While her installation of used typewriters in cages was not really that interesting to me, as they look like they were just recklessly thrown into cages. I prefer her performance art like her iwishtosay project and other projects like 'writing home' and 'the birthday project' where the old technology is used exactly as it was intended to be used, but in a time that it has been abandoned. It's interesting to see the usage of a medium that is far more personal than an email could ever be.
